Founded by ISA trained arborists with international experience, TreeCare blends scientific expertise with a passion for nature, aiming to create a vibrant, professional tree care industry across India. Co-Founder & Certified Arborist
Anadi Skoles
Anadi Skoles, an ISA trained arborist, was born in Auroville and grew up helping restore 10 hectares of barren coastal land into a thriving forest. Years of planting and caring for trees during the monsoons shaped his deep appreciation for their value and inspired his commitment to sharing arboricultural knowledge across India.
Trained as a climbing arborist in 2011, he has spent the past decade co-running TreeCare India with partners Jonas Suchanek and Julian Becker. A pioneer in the field, Anadi has climbed thousands of trees and continues to drive awareness, standards, and innovation in India’s growing arboriculture industry.

Certified Arborist & Co-Founder
Julian Becker
Julian Becker, an ISA trained arborist, was born in Germany and moved to Auroville at age six. Growing up surfing and exploring Auroville’s forests shaped his connection to nature. He joined TreeCare in 2005, trained directly by its early pioneers, and has since climbed thousands of trees and navigated a wide range of challenging situations.
Bringing a structured, detail-driven approach, Julian consistently pushes for safety, efficiency, and high standards across the team. He now focuses on mentoring new members and apprentices, and is inspired by working outdoors, supporting tree health, and expanding awareness of proper pruning and arboriculture in India.

Co-Founder, Executive & Certified Arborist
Jonas Suchanek
Raised in Auroville, Jonas Suchanek grew up with a natural affinity towards nature and spent every moment playing in and around trees. ISA trained, he brings together international standards in arboriculture with a deep respect for India’s unique landscapes.
With a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Aberdeen, Jonas combines analytical thinking with hands-on expertise to help guide TreeCare’s growth and vision. Since joining Anadi Skoles and Julian Becker in 2014, he has worked on several thousand trees across India and beyond, gaining extensive experience in tree care, preservation, and risk assessment.
Jonas co-leads TreeCare, having the privilege of working alongside a dedicated team of amazing professionals who share a common goal, to elevate the standards of arboriculture across India. Together, they blend technical knowledge, innovation, and practical field experience to strengthen TreeCare’s impact and ensure its values are reflected in every project undertaken.

Executive & Professional Arborist
Bagirath Prakash
Bagirath is an Executive and Arborist at Tree Care. Growing up in Auroville, his deep connection with nature fostered an early appreciation for trees and a passion for working with them.
Having competed in national-level swimming, Bagirath brings the discipline, focus, and physical awareness developed through sports into his arboricultural practice - where precision, safety, and teamwork are essential.
This has shaped his approach on how he chooses to co-lead TreeCare, aiming to push climbing standards higher and build up true industrial athletes!

From the start of his journey in arboriculture in 2018, he has climbed and worked on numerous trees all across India in a variety of landscapes ranging from the cool foggy hills of Kodaikanal to the dry rocky lands of Rajastan to the bustling city streets of Bangalore. Resulting in developing an adept understanding of trees in India and their needs. Driven by a continuous desire to learn and advance the field, he looks to collaborate on educational and outreach initiatives. Most recently, he facilitated the Urban Tree Management workshop held in Panaji, which aimed to promote awareness of the importance of arboriculture among local planners, government officials, and the wider public.

Professional Arborist
Siva Rajaram
Siva was born and raised in Kuilapalayam, the village neighbouring Auroville, and studied at an Auroville school for village children. He completed his BSc in Computer Science in 2020. Early on, he worked with his father as a daily labourer, helping drag branches and load firewood, and observing traditional village-style pruning and cashew-tree management. A friend introduced him to TreeCare, where the professional, safety-focused approach immediately inspired him. After graduating, he joined the team in mid-2020 and has grown steadily within the organisation. Today, Siva is part of TreeCare’s management and works as a team leader, tree consultant, lead climber, and trainer for new members. He continues to deepen his skills and is eager to contribute further to India’s growing arboriculture industry.

Professional Arborist
Bir Bahadur Tharu
Bir Bahadur Tharu was born and raised in Bardiya, Nepal, in a farming family where he grew up surrounded by nature, plants, and trees.
This environment shaped his love for climbing, outdoor work, and learning practical skills. Always eager to expand his knowledge, Bir was drawn to TreeCare India and has since developed into a lead climber with a strong interest in machinery and technical tasks.
He completed the Bronze Technical Level Training Course in the maintenance of STIHL equipment, strengthening his mechanical abilities. Bir enjoys taking on challenging tree climbs and continually advancing his skills. He speaks Nepali, Hindi, and English.

Arborist
Manolo Kostner
Manolo grew up in the Netherlands until the age of 14, after which he moved to Auroville. Before joining TreeCare, he spent five years working in Auroville’s forests and seven years in the service industry. Wanting to return to outdoor work and explore a new path, he joined TreeCare on a recommendation and quickly found his place in the team. Manolo enjoys the variety the work offers—visiting new locations, facing fresh challenges, and continually discovering something new while contributing to the care of India’s trees.

Arborist
Prabin Sonaha
Prabin Sonaha is from Rajapur in the Bardia District of Nepal, where he grew up surrounded by nature and developed a strong appreciation for trees and outdoor work. Drawn to arboriculture for its mix of skill, teamwork, and time spent in nature, Prabin enjoys both climbing and ground operations, and also takes interest in basic machine maintenance. Dedicated and hardworking, he is steadily building his skills within the TreeCare team. Prabin speaks Nepali, Hindi, and a little English, and looks forward to growing further in the arboriculture field.

Arborist
Lal Bahadur Tharu
Lal Bahadur Tharu was born in the Bardia District of Nepal, in a village surrounded by the Bardia National Park. Drawn to nature from a young age, he later moved across India for work, living first in Shimla, then the Terai, and finally Delhi. Wanting to experience the ocean, he eventually travelled to Pondicherry and reconnected with his uncle in Auroville. There, he met a member of TreeCare and joined the team as a grass strimmer. Bahadur values the respectful, team-driven environment at TreeCare and enjoys driving, ground work, grass cutting, and hedge maintenance. He speaks Nepali, Hindi, and some Tamil and English. Dedicated and eager to grow, he hopes to pass on his skills to new team members.

Arborist
Ajay Kumar Dahit
Ajay Kumar Dahit was born and raised in Bardiya, Nepal, where he developed an interest in practical, hands-on work. He came to India seeking new opportunities and joined TreeCare, where he found a strong fit with his skills and enthusiasm for outdoor work. Ajay enjoys driving, vehicle maintenance, and supporting both ground operations and climbing activities. Known for his reliability and steady approach, he continues to grow within the team. He speaks Nepali, Hindi, Tamil, and some English.
